Contemporary art is a mirror of contemporary culture and society. In contemporary art, new media imply a set of materials and technologies developed relatively recently, which are used in the creation, presentation and dissemination of new media art. New media in this context come from various sources, both from the field of art and from the wider fields of communication, entertainment and information technology. New media research is a central starting point for the development of contemporary art. One of the consequences of the increasingly rapid development of technology is that the potential of the media that create, display or store works of art becomes obsolete. Ways of presenting and exhibiting the art of new media also influence the expectations and development of an audience that is constantly exposed to new media through entertainment or mass formats such as film, television, the Internet, and games / consoles. As time passes and technology advances more and more rapidly, digital forms are beginning to prevail as they allow for deep immersion and active audience engagement. The established ways of presenting works of art are increasingly being abandoned, giving priority to digital representations and formats. The influence is felt in the creation of contemporary works of art, as well as the fact that the participants of popular culture are getting closer to the contemporary art scene, which is evidenced by numerous collaborations between artists and designers.en
