Abstract

The research in this PhD work aims to study, review and discuss: the position of digital technology and digital images in contemporary society, historical progress and development of the use of art in the digital sphere, the acceptance of digital technology in modern art at the turn of the 20th and 21st century and technical and creative transformations in different stages in a life of digital painting. The specific objective of this work is the formation of a representative sample of artworks related to digital sphere that are necessary for the analysis of the approaches and methods in creating digital paintings and afterwards for comparison of these works with my work as well as a review of conceptual, creative and technical process that I went through while creating this PhD project. In this way, the paths of technical and artistic development of the digital painting from the moment it was recorded in her raw stage, throught the process of editing and with the final performance,... are broken in their individual units , where inside of each unit we define relationships between various hardware - software, artistic and creative segments which are characterized by two-dimensional digital art work. Technical performance of this PhD thesis is a digital manifestation of artistic images that will be carried out publicly through the print media (print on: paper, canvas, plexiglass) and electronic media (mobile phone, tablet, mp3 player, laptop computer, LCD projector, etc)..
