GREH NEADEKVATNOG TELA - Interaktivna video instalacija

Abstract

Doktorski umetnički projekat Greh neadekvatnog tela – interaktivna video instalacija predstavlja bazu teorijskog, istraživačkog i praktičnog rada kroz koji se ispituju mogućnosti samorealizicije u uslovima kad telo postaje instrument u konzumerizmu. Realizovan kao digitalna multiekranska (multiscreen) interaktivna video instalacija, rad pod nazivom Rez ispituje odnos komercijalnog i upotrebnog, identiteta i identifikacije, ţenske seksualnosti u uslovima marketinškog terora, istovremeno istražuje granice koje nameće savremeni društveni kontekst, u kome „neadekvatno telo” postaje centar savremene anksioznosti ali i izvor velike zarade. Doktorski rad uključuje i analizu konzumerističkog kapitalizma kao epohe koja pomera fokus sa proizvodnje na potrošnju i prati kako se standardizacije koje diktira globalno trţište reflektuju na modifikacije i transformacije tela, naročito u uslovima projektovanih i nametnutih ideala koje uspostavljaju masovni mediji. Teorijski krug rada obuhvata brojne autore koji su se naučno bavili efektima etabliranog potrošačkog društva koje podstiče „ludilo potreba” i stvara deficit sreće, označavajući ga kao društvo spektakla u kome je, podsedstvom novih medija sve podložno simulaciji i u kome se briše razlika između istinitog i lažnog. Pri tome, montaža postaje ključna tehnologija za stvaranje lažnih stvarnosti. Istovremeno se aktuelizuje Fukoova ideja o nadzoru nad telom koje se u tržišnim uslovima sve više tretira kao mašina koja se može kontrolisati, disciplinovati i nadzirati. Kroz kritičku projekciju u doktorskom radu daje se i pregled nekoliko relevantnih umetnika koji se takođe bave problemom ženskog identiteta u uslovima kulminacije manipulativnih tehnika produkcije želja. Posmatrajući različite nivoe realiteta i njihove međuodnose kroz razne umetničke forme i teorijske koncepte, umetnički projekat Rez, kao i doktorski rad, istražuju načine na koje pojedinac u savremenom društvu uspostavlja pseudoidentitete gubeći kritički odnos prema projektovanim modelima i hibridnim formama egzistencije koje guše čovekovu slobodu. Posmatrajući različite nivoe realiteta i njihove međuodnose kroz razne umetničke forme i teorijske koncepte, umetnički projekat Rez, kao i doktorski rad, istražuju načine na koje pojedinac u savremenom društvu uspostavlja pseudoidentitete gubeći kritički odnos prema projektovanim modelima i hibridnim formama egzistencije koje guše čovekovu slobodu.

The doctoral thesis project The Sin of the Inadequate Body – Interactive video installation outlines the foundation for a theoretical, research and practical work which examines the possibilities for self-fulfilment in situations where the body becomes a consumeristic vehicle. Conceived as a digital multiscreen video installation, the project called Cut (Rez) addresses the relationship between commercial value and usability, identity and identification, female sexuality in the context of marketing terrorism while also examining the limits imposed by the modern social context in which an „inadequate body” becomes the centre of contemporary anxiety as well as a source for considerable profits. The doctoral thesis also includes an analysis of consumer capitalism, an era in which the focus is shifted from production to consumption, and observes the manner in which standardisations dictated by the global market impact the body’s modifications and transformations, primarily in the context of projected ideals imposed by the mass media. The theoretical cycle of the thesis references numerous authors whose scientific works have addressed the effects of an established consumerist society which encourages a „insanity of needs” and creates a deficit of happiness by defining it as a society of the spectacle in which everything becomes subjected to manipulation and where the difference between falsehood and truth vanish under the instrumentation of the new medias. Likewise, editing becomes one of the key technologies used for creating fake realities. Thus, Foucault’s idea of body monitoring which in a market context is being treated as a machine subjected to control, discipline and surveillance, is being updated. The doctoral thesis also contains a critical overview of a number of prominent artists who engage in the problems of female identity in the context of a culmination of manipulative techniques used for the production of desires. Considering different levels of reality and their interrelations achieved through various art forms and theoretical concepts, both the art project “Rez” and the doctoral thesis examine the manner in which a modern individual assumes pseudo-identities while losing the critical relationship towards projected models and hybrid existential forms which inhibit one's freedom.
