Abstract
APSTRAKT
ABSTRACT
The artistic project "In which file should I put my heart" (U koji fajl da stavim svoje srce), with the subtitle "Experimental Film as a Fusion of Film, Documentary and Feature Film", deals with the research of human memory, emotions and actions, through the creation of a documentary-feature film. The way people view the moments that matter to them is analyzed and presented through various methods of recording memories, and is represented to a viewer on a split screen, where the left and right halves display different, same or similar contents recorded by a super8mm camera and digital camera. In this film we see fiction and documentary, or pseudo-documentary scenes, whose overlaping and deliberate nostalgia lead us to the question: from the numerous files in which we store images and movies today, what file will we mark as significant, into which file will we put our heart? The basic settings, short history and features of the documentary film are the beginnings of the theore...tical part of
the research, with a special focus on the popularization of this genre through the review of Michael Moor's creativity and a more detailed presentation and analysis of the documentary phase of Zoran Tadić. Searching for the roots of inspiration and influence that found its reflection in this art project, the author continues to explore the influences of the French New Wave, both of the films, as well as of the critical texts and essays of the authors, that preceded their filmmaking. Genre film festival - GEFF, as a festival that, after only modest but brave beginnings, managed to gather, intrigue, anger and thrill most of the filmmakers and critics in the then Yugoslavia, in the course of only three biennial editions - is
especially presented. Its treatment of experimental film leaves traces on the work of film artists in the region to date. The fusion of genres is observed through the confrontation of the feature and documentary film, the search for similarities and differences in the process and perception, the interference of narratives into non-narrative structures and the birth of new genres that practice this fusion in practice. A pseudo-documentary, mockumentary genre is highlighted, to which some of the characteristics "In which file should I put my heart" relies. The treatment of artistic research as a blend of theory and practice in which theory is not neglected, but the art has the primacy of the author has been analyzed by looking for the necessary foothold in many doubts and problems that still follow the concept of artistic research. The synopsis and analysis of the art project are an integral part of this work, as well as the film itself, which is attached in electronic format.
